School Uniform Policy

LAUSD policy states that every school can adopt a uniform policy depending on the specific needs of the school. In 2004, a uniform policy was adopted by vote of the West Hollywood Elementary School Site Council to reinforce the school’s discipline efforts and provide increased safety and security to our students.

Our policy is that boys shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy blue pants or shorts. The pants or shorts should be appropriately belted around the waist. Girls shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy pants, shorts, skirts or jumpers. Jewelry should be appropriate with studs or very small hoops for earrings. Shoes should be closed toe and have a rubber sole. We ask all students to refrain from wearing hats and caps while indoors.

Please note: Spirit Wear is not school uniform except for navy blue hoodies which are acceptable as uniform outerwear.

You may also purchase logo uniforms on-line or by telephone through French Toast. FOWHE receives a percentage of these sales. Retail stores that carry acceptable uniforms for our school are: Target, Gap, Old Navy, Children’s Place and Lands End.
